Welcome to my website! I hope you enjoy browsing through my portfolio, which showcases some of my favorite work.

Here’s a little bit about myself…

MEET LAUREN

hOW IT’s GOING

I wear a handful of hats across the sports media landscape: Play-by-play, host, reporter, emcee, analyst, content creator, and writer.

After earning my Master’s degree from the Northwestern Medill School of Journalism, I carved a new role for myself as the Assistant Director of Creative Content & Team Reporter for Northwestern Football. During the week, I create daily content for the Wildcats’ social media channels. On Saturdays, I join the WGN Radio broadcast team as the sideline reporter for all Northwestern Football games.

In 2024, I made my debut as a play-by-play broadcaster, host and interviewer for the PGA TOUR and Korn Ferry Tour. I called a handful of tournaments as a play-by-play host out of the PGA TOUR LIVE studios, hosted “The CUT” airing on Golf Channel, and conducted live interviews for the Korn Ferry Tour, also airing on Golf Channel. I also began working with numerous golf brands, clubs and tournaments as a social media host and digital content personality.

Throughout the year, I keep busy with coverage of other teams and events. During basketball season, I hit the hardwood to keep ‘Cats fans entertained as the first full-time In-Game Host for all Northwestern Men’s and Women’s Basketball games. I assume analyst duties for a handful of sports and teams, including college basketball, field hockey, volleyball , lacrosse and golf, and contribute to a handful of Illinois High School sports broadcasts.

I love calling upon my scientific education at work, applying concepts related to sports psychology and athletic performance to my analysis of sports. My background in fine art shows through my knack for thinking outside the box to create unique, engaging content, from idea conception to publication. My competitive spirit keeps me motivated to improve my craft daily and to create the best possible work for my team.

I absolutely love what I do and can’t wait to see how my career continues to unfold!

hOW IT STARTED

A native of Bloomfield Hills, Michigan, I grew up playing practically every sport under the rainbow. I was never the team MVP, but I loved everything that sports added to my life — the friends, the competition, the mentorship and the activity. I planned to play lacrosse in college before a hiking accident my sophomore year of high school left me sidelined with a brain injury. I pivoted my future plans away from D3 schools to the Big Ten and developed a strong passion for mental health.

I switched my energy away from playing sports towards other things I loved: writing, creating art, teaching yoga and coaching. I continued to pursue these passions at the University of Michigan, where I enrolled in the Lloyd Hall Scholars Program, a living-learning community for writing and fine art.

Once at Michigan, I discovered the field of sports psychology and found it was the perfect combination of my love for sports and passion for mental health. I dual-enrolled in the College of Literature, Science & the Arts and School of Kinesiology to study Biopsychology, Cognition & Neuroscience and Movement Science, while I minored in American Culture.

A friend in my sorority, Alpha Delta Pi, asked me to help on set of the Michigan Basketball show she produced for WOLV-TV, U of M’s student-run TV station. I spent one afternoon on set and fell in love with a job I had never considered before: sports reporting.

My junior year of college, I pitched myself to a director at FOX Sports Detroit in a press box elevator at Madison Square Garden during the Men’s Big Ten Basketball Tournament. An elevator pitch (literally) landed me my first industry job and I haven’t looked back since!

life behind the scenes

I love that I’m able to incorporate so many things I love into my work: creativity, art, sports, health, people and stories.

Outside of work, I love to explore Chicago and spend time throwing a tennis ball for my pup, Rookie, at parks along Lake Michigan. I also love to see Chicagoland by checking off a master list of golf courses (I’m on a mission to consistently break 90 this year) and searching for the city’s best live country music scene.

I still keep up with fine art, and am working on a never-ending series of charcoal drawings to depict each stadium and arena I’ve worked in.

I also love to teach yoga (I have my RYT-500 certification and have taught classes for the Detroit Pistons!), cook new recipes, run on the lakefront, post up in a hammock to read, and catch a game from the stands whenever I can.
